Informationen
The three-movement quartet in G major presented here was composed between 1780 and 1785 and appears here as a first edition edited in a source-critical manner. It is oriented towards the upper voice, whereby the flute is treated quite virtuously. The introduction of the Viola I instead of the Violin II in combination with the flute voice brings an attractive change in timbre. The entertaining character of the work, whose melodies are tamed by classical austerity of form, promises the performers a lot of fun when making music and makes this piece a discovery for professionals and lovers, which will certainly enrich the chamber music repertoire.
