Double concerto C-major, for 2 Violas and Orchestra

Anton Wranitzky was a highly respected and influential teacher, violinist and composer from Moravia. Like his older brother Paul, from whom he learned the beginnings of violin playing, he made an important contribution to Viennese musical life around 1800. The special charm of the Concerto for 2 violas and orchestra lies not only in the compositional mastery but also in the rarely encountered instrumentation.
