This piece by Toshio Hosokawa is commissioned by the 2nd Tokyo International Viola Competition for the second round which has taken place from 26 May to 3 June 2012 in Tokyo. The work is dedicated to the numerous victims of the Tohoku Earthquake on 11 March 2011. The composer chose the sound of the viola as an expression of his prayer for these victims.
