In his music Ilari Laakso is sometimes mentioned to be a postmodernist. It is also said that he is building a bridge between modernism and the past of western music. Laakso tells that he is endlessly inspired by the universe of one single tune (sound) and that he is consciously trying to avoid complexity in his music. «The world in itself is complex enough. The aim of composer is to bring some clarity to it - whenever it's possible.»
